Byte Hopper

Terms of Use

Updated October 9, 2026 (world leaderboard)

The short version

  • Byte Hopper is free to play.
  • Bits, robots and upgrades are only for the game. They have no money value and can't be bought, sold or exchanged.
  • Byte Hopper is provided “as is”.

These terms are an agreement between you and Auvler Systems, based in Ontario, California (“we”, “us”), for the use of the Byte Hopper app and the Byte Hopper pages on auvler.com (the “Service”). By using Byte Hopper, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Byte Hopper.

1. Playing Byte Hopper

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to play Byte Hopper on devices you own or control, for your personal entertainment. You may not sell, rent or redistribute the app, modify it, or use it to break the law.

2. Bits and in-game items

Bits, robots and power-up upgrades exist only inside the game. They have no real-world value, can't be bought with money, and can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for anything. They're saved only on your device, so they can be lost if you reset your progress, uninstall the app or change devices, and we can't restore them. We may rebalance prices, power-ups or difficulty in updates.

3. The world leaderboard

The leaderboard is optional. If you join, your nickname, flag and scores are shown to everyone who plays. Your nickname must not be offensive, hateful or sexual, must not pretend to be someone else or to be from Auvler, and must not include personal information such as your full name, phone or address. Don't use bots, modified apps or anything else to get scores you didn't play. We may hide or rename a nickname, remove scores or players that break these rules, and reset or change the leaderboard. You can delete your online data at any time in Settings.

4. Our rights

The Byte Hopper app, name, icon, characters (including Hopper the robot) and design belong to Auvler Systems. These terms don't give you any rights to them other than the license to play the game.

5. Changes to the Service

We may change, add or remove features, or stop offering Byte Hopper. Because the game works on your device, the version you have will usually keep working.

6. Disclaimers

Byte Hopper is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent allowed by law. We don't promise it will be error-free or always available. Please take breaks and play in a safe place.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Auvler Systems won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, progress, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Byte Hopper. Our total liability for any claim related to Byte Hopper is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Byte Hopper in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

8. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that can't be resolved this way will be handled in the state or federal courts located in San Bernardino County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

9. App stores

If you got Byte Hopper from the Apple App Store, Apple's terms also apply to the download. These terms are between you and Auvler Systems, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Byte Hopper or its support, maintenance, or any claims about it; we are. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top. If you keep using Byte Hopper afterward, you accept the new terms.
